Night At The Spa

I still need to write about the "great night" I had with Mark on Jan. 31. He rented a car (remember, we are in NYC and thats what you do) and he took me to a spa on Long Island. Actually it was a huge family oriented spa with dads, and moms and singles and couples and kids. It  was huge, the spa I mean. Long story short, we spent 2 hours on three somewhat luxurious floors going in and out of steams rooms of varying temperatures, salt rooms, ice rooms, etc. Everyone is dressed in a uniform of shorts and a tee shirt that they give you when you first register at the desk when you arrive. When we were finally steamed, and pooled, and sauna'ed out, we went down to the huge, clean and modern/elegant mens locker room. This was a treat because not only were there an additional three or four sauna's and cold plunges and steam rooms and whirlpools to enjoy. . .  but also because it was the locker room and everyone, mostly fit, was naked. Naked is good, no? Yes! He looked at me when we first got down there and smiled and said "now I get to see you naked." Ha-ha, and I got to see him naked. Believe it or not, after 4 or 5 dates and four weeks of knowing him, it was the first time I saw him sans clothes. It was well worth the wait. I like him a lot but, all is not great in my somewhat "depressed" state of "trying to be happy, post Jess". I'll write about that next, as soon as I can.

Saturday Night Was Date #4 . . . Amazing Night!

Saturday night with Mark. What can I say except that it was amazing! I don't have a lot of time now to write and give all the details, but stay tuned! I'll write more later.

Mark Update

So I saw Mark last on Saturday night. It was the third time we had hung out. I was sick on Tuesday through today. Didn't even leave my place. I think I may have texted Mark once or twice and he responded with a basic text to both, albeit a day later. Thats fine, in my mind I need to move super slow. Not even sure if anything is there. He's a lawyer and he stresses out a lot about work. We spend a lot of time talking about things he isn't happy with at his job. I want to be there for him but I don't want to make the same mistake again and get swallowed up by someone else's life to the point where mine doesn't matter. I was going to chill and sit back and let him call me if and when he felt like it. No pressure from me. I didn't and don't want to play any games this time around. But I don't want to run after anyone either.

He called me today at five o'clock. He told me how crazy his week was. We spend 45 minutes on the phone. He got another call and said he'd call me back. I figured "no sweat". He called me back and we spoke for another 30 minutes. I like this guy a lot. He is smart, motivated, intelligent, hard working, success oriented and I am way attracted to him. So when he asked me if we were going to see each other this weekend, I didn't have to think about it. I left it as Saturday night is cool but lets be in touch prior to it. I miss my friend Jess more than anything in the world, but Mark makes me forget about him when I'm with him. There can be life after Jess! Thanks Mark for coming into my life.

Oh Yeah, I Met A Guy I Like!

So, in all these months since Jess and I have stopped talking (or maybe I should say, all these months that Jess has stopped and continued refusing to speak or communicate with me) I went from not wanting to see or hangout with or date or even hookup with anyone. Then I went through the stage of hooking up and playing with anyone that came my way that I thought was hot. I think during this stage, I was so beaten down from Jess ignoring me and making me feel worthless that any flattery or self esteem I gained from anyone was soaked in! Needless to say, I've made a few new buddies that I see anywhere from infrequently to often.

But I recently met a guy, named Mark who I like, believe it or not, I do like him. We met a week ago Saturday and have only spent 3 days together but each day was long and fun and amazing and the conversation was interesting and flowed out of us. Saturday night we met up at 5:00pm and went to a local bar for a quiet drink and then went to dinner, Vietnamese. It was a lot of fun and Mark knows his food. He did the ordering :-) does that make me lose my dude status? He's a lawyer and well, lets leave it at that for now. After dinner we took in a late movie. . . The Fighter. The movie was great and it was pretty obvious that we both couldn't keep our "friendly" hands off one another. It was a, dare I say, magical night.  Although I miss Jess and miss being his friend and hate that he has ignored me since July, Mark makes me forget that sadness. But I'm going to take it real slow. After Jess, I am hesitant and a big part of me feels that relationships between men just don't work or maybe even that I am simply not relationship worthy or relationship capable.

Hope you all stay tuned.  Good night!
